Exchanging sleepers Shinkansen-style

Kosei Kensetsu, a subsidiary of the West Japan Railway Company, is taking various structural measures to improve travel safety and to minimise damage. When employing these sleepers, Plasser & Theurer’s SES 170 enters the scene, along with one of the most important machine operators in western Japan: Ryo Ishibashi. Despite his crucial job, he is dubbed “The Troublemaker”.

Good reasons for introducing 3D simulation technology

If a machine is set aside for training purposes, it can’t be operated at a profit. This is where training in a simulator comes to the rescue – it’s totally realistic and works come rain or shine. Plasser & Theurer has always prioritised professional training and has been using modern 3D simulation technology for over ten years.

Coaching Nagano’s

UNIMA 4

Youta Koichi works at a subsidiary of the Nagano Electric Railway Company. A small special tamping machine is particularly close to his heart: Plasser & Theurer's custom-made UNIMA 4. The new SmartCatalog

In addition to the printed spare parts catalogues, we offer the option to find original spare parts in our SmartCatalog. It runs on smartphones and tablets with iOS or Android operating systems, and from now on also as a web application on your PC or laptop.

Ballast cleaning: Exact placement of the track

Uniformity is crucial to ensure the high track quality. Therefore, the ballast cleaning machine needs to guide the excavating chain exactly to ensure the right excavating depth and crossfall.

Face-lift for high-speed lines

Almost 30 years have passed since the first high-speed railway lines were opened in Germany at the beginning of June 1991. So it’s time to start renewing this infrastructure that is subjected to large loads. In June 2019, this work was started and is planned to be carried out over the next five years.

With the Gotthard Base Tunnel already in operation, the railway industry and railway aficionados across Europe look forward to the completion of the construction works on the two tubes through Monte Ceneri.
